World Concern, a registered charity since 1979, is about DEMOCRACY, but as all of our work is made available free through the new media, the bottom line for us is FREE SPEECH. We practice it, in that we comment objectively - without fear or favour. We are missionaries for its integration into all nations, because it is the very cornerstone of accountability and everywhere the essential key to democratic governance.

In reporting the many nations in transition that we do and in the wider world of geopolitics, we are about exercising free speech. Inevitably, we report and analyse such nations in the context of the world community. We describe how they interact with the mighty of this world, as well with as their neighbours. Movements and institutions, as well as nations, are discussed by us. Terrorism is an obvious example; religion in politics is another - both phenomena that have returned to haunt the world in the 21st century. We have produced Special Reports illuminating the Who's Who of Afghanistan's warlords and a map of their political fiefs there; The Shi'a in Middle eastern politics, particularly in Iraq; others from time to time as appropriate to events.

WorldAudit.org (since 1997) reviews every nation in the world, large and small. All those with a population exceeding one million (150) are graded into four divisions within a DEMOCRACY League table. In addition, every nation on earth has its own country page, and there we collect and present relevant information with a democracy-led agenda to aid the study and understanding of each country.

Newnations.com (since 2002) explores emerging nations in depth through political and economic monthly analysis, supported by archives, with a monthly UPDATE of news and important events on (currently) forty nations. These are written by highly qualified writers, many of whom are PhD level specialists in those nations. What we provide free annually - nearly 500 reports overall, plus 24 geopolitical Bulletins - is a unique service, which compares favourably in quality with high-priced commercial reports.

We firmly believe that the analytical service we provide should now be extended to 'at least' another forty new nations. Our World Audit data tells us that only 35 nations in the world are unquestionably democratic. Although we now cover most of the world's former communist countries, and indeed two of those five remaining, we need to include China, Cuba and Lao PDR, to make that a 'full house;' plus Mongolia and Cambodia, to complete the former communist line-up.

We take note and approve of the Condaleezza Rice category of 'Outposts of Tyranny.' We already cover some of them, the so-called 'Axis of Evil,' (but not yet Burma-Myanmar, Cuba, Zimbabwe), as well as several tyrannies that she does NOT include. The 'realpolitik' is that if they are of sufficient service to the USA, their tyrannies are 'overlooked' by Washington…. but not by us!

Apart from South Africa, which we report and Zimbabwe, we now need to expand our coverage to several other African states - and then there are the Latin Americans. We have plans to include Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Argentine and more…
Our long term objective is to be able to report ALL of those nations of the world, not yet democracies, not yet self-sufficient.

Everything we publish is FREE to the reader, yet without resources none of this can be done. It is now vital that we attract support from like-minded individuals or corporations, that see free speech as the essential element in democratic nation-building.
